WHAT IS ADITYA L1 MISSION

ADITYA L1 MISSION

India's Indian Space Research Organization [ short ISRO] is going to launch one of the most crucial Aditya L1 solar mission in the upcoming first week of September after a victorious landing of Chandrayaan-3 which will help in the extensive understanding of the sun's behavior and how its influence the space weather along with sun's dynamics, gases patterns and formation of structure.

ISRO is a space agency of India, founded on the 15th of August,1969 by the prestigious physicist and Industrialist VIKARAM SARABAHIThe headquarters of ISRO is located in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. besides this, ISRO runs the space station at Sriharikota , Andhra Pradesh for launching the Rockets and space missions. The current chairman of ISRO is Sreedhara Panicker Somanath.

With the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3, ISRO made an enormous contribution to creating the history of India. Thus, India has become the first country to successfully land a spacecraft on the south pole of the Moon. Till now, The United States of America , China and Russia are known as successful countries in landing spacecraft on the moon. With the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon on 23 August 2023, India will be known as the fourth country in this series.

Following this success, ISRO undertook the mission of launching Aditya L1. This project will be known as the country's first Surya Mission. ISRO's Space Applications Center (SAC) Director Shri Nilesh M. Desai said that the Aditya L1 mission is fully ready and is waiting for its launch.

The tentative date for the launch of Aditya L1 is 2 September 2023. Aditya L1 Mission will be launched From Satish Dhawan Space Center( an Aerospace company in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh) with the help of PSLV XL ( Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle) Rocket. The PSLV rocket will place Aditya L1 in an elliptical orbit. With this, it will closely examine the rays coming out of the Sun.

The Aditya L1 Mission will allow India's scientists to study the sun for the first time with the hope that it could unlock new insights about the center of our solar system.

Aditya L1 has seven advanced payloads. It has been designed to examine all the layers(photosphere, chromosphere, and corona) of the Sun.

The Sun has three layers: the first photosphere, the second chromosphere, and the third corona. The chromosphere is the second layer of the Sun that appears as a red and glowing layer of gas above the photosphere.

Aditya L1 (Sun-Earth Lagrangian Point) which is about 1.5 million kilometers from the Earth. This point provides the advantage of observing the sun continuously without any disturbance.
